SPRINGFIELD, GA — The Springfield Library is beginning an exciting new chapter with the arrival of
Natorra Madison-Moody as its new branch manager, bringing an experienced library professional and
proven community advocate to Effingham County.
Madison-Moody comes to Springfield with a strong background in public library service and a reputation for
connecting libraries with the communities they serve. In 2021, she made history as the first recipient of
the Georgia Public Library Service Library Employee of the Year Award, recognizing her outstanding
service while serving as branch manager of the Alma-Bacon County Public Library.
Her recognition highlighted the kind of community-focused leadership she now brings to Springfield.
As part of the Statesboro Regional Public Libraries, the Springfield Library provides much more than
books. The local branch offers programs, activities, educational resources and opportunities for residents of
all ages to learn, explore and connect.
In a recent introduction to the community, Madison-Moody highlighted some of the programs and activities
available at the Springfield branch and encouraged residents to visit the library, meet the staff and discover
everything their local library has to offer.
Libraries continue to play an important role in communities like Springfield by providing access to
technology, educational materials, children’s programming, lifelong learning opportunities and welcoming
spaces where neighbors can come together.
Madison-Moody’s arrival provides another opportunity to build upon that important mission while
introducing new residents and families to the resources available right here in Effingham County.
A New Chapter for Effingham County’s Libraries
The Springfield announcement is also part of a broader period of new leadership for local libraries. A new
branch manager for the Rincon Library is expected to be introduced later this week, bringing additional
attention to the people working behind the scenes to serve Effingham County residents.
